PACSA is in TOWN

Its been my first time to respond for a request for a medical team in a convention. I first think on what will I do in this kind of event. I am used to have a hard core action when our serves is in need, like when providing first aid service to students in an athletic event. Or rendering service to ROTC in their tactical evaluation. I even refuse to accept the job. But I have no choice but to take or to take the job. Philippine Association of Campus Student Advisers (PACSA) held its first Mindanao congress here in USM. It runs from September 22-24, 2011 after a couple of times of cancellation.

On its first day, different students and advisers arrived in Hostel Pavilion at USM for their registration. Five cotangents confer in this event. The attendees came from Bukidnon State University, Central Mindanao University, Notre Dame of Marvel University, Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College, San Pedro College and the host school.

PACSA decided to make a historical event in USM for its very 1st Mindanao congress. The Mindanao advisers’ officer invited four great resource speakers for the breakthrough event in PACSA Mindanao. The speakers namely and talk about topics on: Prof Renato Jose Ma. Molano talks about ASAP(Aking Sisimulan and Pagbabago) a teacher in De La Salle University; Prof. Joana Grace Lapore, talks on Values and Leadership from Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College; Prof. Alejandro Nueva give information on Understanding Campus Advising  he is from Adamson University and Student Leadership and as the last speaker on the second day the president of PACSA national in the name of Atty. Julius Babista give light to legal issues in Campus Advising a director in the office for student affairs in Adamson University.

Eventually, what I think that the medical desk I empty is wrong. On the registration day, Sir Gideon Cabahug the VP for Mindanao of PACSA ask me to take his blood pressure(BP) while setting on my post near the office of hostel. While taking the history he has a maintenance and does not take it unless he feels uncomfortable. And his BP reads 140/100mmHg. I immediately offer him to buy his maintenance because he forget his medication in their room at the hotel (guesthouse). On the second day, after arriving in the venue a student approach me because he got an insect bite after turning on the air condition. To make it safe I brought him in the hospital to be seen by a physician. Later on that day I knew that the first night of the student in USM a student had a stomachache and the guard get a medicine in the hospital. While Prof Nueva is having  a low grade fever and requested an antipyretic medication and later went well and feel ok.
